TeachPro ("TeachPro," "we," "us," or "our") provides a planning, gradebook, and organization tool for teachers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you create an account and use TeachPro, we collect:
- Account information — your name and email address, used to create and secure your account.
- Content you create — lesson plans, class lists, gradebooks, assignments, grades, notes, tasks, and academic term/calendar information you enter into the app.
- Payment information — if you subscribe through our website or the Android app, subscription and billing details are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. If you subscribe through our iOS app, your purchase is processed by Apple through your App Store account, and is subject to Apple's own privacy policy. We do not store your full card number, and we do not receive or store any payment card details for purchases made through Apple.
- Usage information — basic technical data (such as device type and error logs) that helps us keep the service running reliably.
Student information you enter
As part of using TeachPro, you may enter names and grades for your students into class lists and gradebooks. This information is entered and controlled entirely by you, the teacher, as part of your own recordkeeping — TeachPro does not collect this information directly from students, and students do not create accounts or otherwise interact with TeachPro directly. You are responsible for ensuring your use of TeachPro to store student information complies with your school's policies and applicable laws (such as FERPA in the United States).
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the TeachPro service.
- To process your subscription and communicate about billing.
- To send account-related emails, such as sign-in confirmations and password resets.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run TeachPro:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication.
- Stripe — processes subscription payments and billing for subscriptions purchased on our website or through the Android app.
- Apple — processes subscription payments and billing for subscriptions purchased through our iOS app, and shares limited purchase and subscription status information with us so we can activate your subscription.
These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us, not for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated content at any time from the account settings inside the app. Deleted data is removed from our production systems and is not recoverable.
Your subscription and the mobile app
If you use TeachPro through our Android app, subscriptions are purchased and managed through your account on our website, not through the app itself. The app will direct you to our website to subscribe or manage an existing subscription.
If you use TeachPro through our iOS app, subscriptions are purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system and billed to your Apple ID. Apple manages this payment on our behalf and shares subscription status information (such as whether your subscription is active) with us so we can unlock access to the app, but does not share your payment card details with us. You can view, manage, or cancel an iOS subscription at any time in your device's Settings app under your Apple ID account, or in the App Store.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
TeachPro is intended for use by adult educators. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Any student information present in the app is entered by a teacher for their own recordkeeping, as described above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date above or by other reasonable means.
